1) I can see consistency with the actual brand's logo as it is the same throughout all of the other texts we have seen previously. It is clearly displayed four times throughout this page; three times on the central image and once on the actual web screen itself. The colour scheme used also reflects the similar theme used in both the movie itself and the music video. The characters from the film are also clearly presented to the right of the central image. Plan B's own brand is also on display as his name and alias are plastered a few times on the site page.
2) The phrase 'BUY NOW' has been used both on the central image and on one of the page tabs which encourages viewers of the website to purchase the film. The page tabs also provide viewers the opportunity to watch the trailer, related videos and listen to the Ill Manors album which creates synergy between the different platforms. This means that they are able to connect with the brand's products easily, with just one click of the mouse. It is well located on the page and means that people are likely to notice and follow these links.
3) Plan B's official website is set up in such a way that is similar to that of a social media website such as Tumblr. For example, the layout of the homepage is structured so that each thumbnail for each page is a different size, and is scattered strategically around one another. It has also incorporated his tweets onto the page itself which further adds to the appearance of a social media website being used. The colour scheme used in the design of the website is quite simplistic with only three colours being used which is a common conventions of social media web pages.
4) As it is published on a website, virtually anybody could access it and view it. This statement links very well in with the TedX talk that Plan B had attended and had a speech very similar to this statement, such as how he felt towards the riotsthat had happened and his opinion on the youth. Plan B won't justify the riots as he may believe the song he has made on Ill Manors justifies it for him, but personally I do not agree with him as if you justify it elsewhere, why not do it again.
Similarly, this links in with when Plan B was on the Jonathan Ross show as he presented himself as very smart and sophisticated with aspects of humor. In this statement Plan B is very formal, likewise he was when he was on the Jonathan Ross show. Ill Manors is also stated both ontelevision and in this statement and it helps promote the film as he brings it up quite often and makes it sound like the movie has something in relation to the riots which many people have unanswered questions about.
5) I think that social media is the main focus over official websites for films due to the fact that the younger generation are more inclined to be on these sites or apps as opposed to searching for the official one for the movie. One particular feature of social networks is that certain accounts can be verified which isn't something found on 'official' websites. This means that fans can easily distinguish between the real and phony accounts.
Another advantage of social media is the fact that a variety of different users can be reached using it. This means that it is a one-stop place to find anyone's profiles. This way, fans only need to create one account in order to access a variety of peoples and brands' accounts.
An advantage from the film's perspective is that their social media account can be easily shared using the social media account itself as people who are following the brand can share it with their friends and/or family. This is a great technique to garner more attention for the film itself, as well as the brand. Particularly for Ill Manors since social media is used by the very people who the film is targeted at (adolescents/young adults).
